What I will miss and won't miss about my life as a student

Today I went to the university to return some books to the library. It was weird to walk around the campus full with busy people and I did not have a class to go to. Awesome!
This made me think about all the things I am going to miss and the things I am not going to miss about my life as a student:

I am going to miss:

- seeing my best friend in class. We have known each other since first grade.
- sleep. I admit you get to sleep in a lot as a student.
- my train ticket that gets me across the state for 120 euros per half a year.
- the food at university. It starts to taste the same after 4,5 years, but it's cheap and you do not have to cook.
- going to the gym in the morning when it is empty, because I don't have a class
- internships were always a lot of fun and they reminded me of the reasons I did all this.

I am not going to miss:

- arrogant professors and teachers
- completely arbitrary grades
- exams about topics that were originally excluded
- egoistic and braggy students
- being nothing but a number to the professors and teachers who couldn't care less. I have a name!
- let's face it: the papers you write, ghet read once (not even all of it), get graded and then go in the bin.  Nobody ever appreciates the work I do.
- crammed buses. All buses.
- living on a student budget (not over yet, but hopefully soon)
- the library

Eat, pray, love in three days

After my last exam Hendrik and I decided to go on a mini vacation to Sardinia. Hendrik found great deals so we only payed 10 euros per person per flight. Hendrik was delighted.
The whole entire stay was a blessing. I was so exhausted from basicly studying non- stop sinc January first and some exams did not go the way I planned. I felt worthless, because this will ruin my average and my self- worth depends a lot on my grades. Big disapointment. It still hurts, but it was good to get away from it. I firmly believe that everything will eventually turn out well. Through this all Hendrik kept reassuring me that a) it will  indeed be all right b) I was worth a lot to him.
It was nice to be able to drive through the beautiful Italian country side and just talk. In our every day life we are both very busy and usually have the dinner conversations or way too long conversations in bed before we eventually fall asleep. But in Italy we were able to get the big picture. I am so blessed to be with this man.
Because of all the chaos in my head I also prayed a lot. One evening we sat on our balcony and prayed with tears running down our cheeks. One of the most powerful moments of our entire relationship so far. Incredible how far we have come.
Of course, since we were in Italy, we also ate a lot. The bad thing is that Italians usually eat several courses. This means the portions are very small, but still cost as much as an entire meal in Germany. This was a bit stupid, but we made up for it with lots of ice- cream.
Now,I will quit talking and let you enjoy the beautiful Italian nature (and some photos of  us):

I did it!

I never thought this day would come. 9 semesters seemed like an eternity, yet it somehow passed quickly!

my brain is sick of studying

I know I am almost done and should not complain, but this girl is getting restless especially since my friend spring finally decided to make his grand appearance. Guys, I cannot express how much I want Thursday to be here. Meanwhile, I hope my brain finally stops talking about crazy career alternatives (cocktail bar in Brazil on the beach anyone?) so I can get it done!
